Update
By now I have put most of my geographical haiku, from around the US, into my book e pluribus haiku anthology - 3487 haiku, which believe it or not has 3487 haiku. Many if not most of them are on this site as well, in an enlightened form no less, so welcome to the page and scroll down and experience it.
You will notice, however, that as a garden, it needs weeding; I concentrated on putting them in a book, and that took all my energy. I will say, however, that linking a kigo (season clue) to a season picture, and a geographical clue to a state map, was, I felt, an ingenious innovation. I'm proud of making link haiku that has a pattern, that uses links as part of poetry, that is in a sense several pages in depth. The collection (accessed by clickig the state names in the templates) is messy, in some cases has format errors, and worst of all, links to outside pictures instead of my own. Probably half of the visitors I have on this site is people wondering who the heck is linking to their spring cherry photo repeatedly. Me! I have my own, but for a while there I linked to whatever I could find.
Haiku, I've noticed, is not on the upswing. On the contrary, people are rejecting it as it has to have a period of being out of style before it. can come back and be all the rage. OK, I accept that, and never really wrote my poetry to make money anyway, but I accept this time, whether it is a year, five years or twenty years, as time to regroup and reorganize.
That's why I'm embarking on cleaning up the old poetry on this page. The bad formatting, outside pictures, etc.? I'll do something about it. One state at a time. It'll take a while but one has to start somewhere.
It's time to admit that the e pluribus haiku: a novel project didn't really get wings. One has to fit a full-fledged novel into the format of e pluribus (alabama-alaska-arkansas etc.) or else find another way. Not that it can't be done. Let's say it's moved as far back on the shelf as it takes before you start not seeing it.
Perhaps going over, curating the original haiku will inspire me. If nothing else, it will make this page cleaner, inside and out.
